Myles Astor, PositiveFeedback. Recommending this product is a no-brainer. I was told I would need to purchase the electrical cable for it myself. Amp MCB for the shower and an RCD (Earth Trip).
But there are many other things which have to be considered as well.
The size of cable needed will depend on its length of run and its installation methods. The important thing to consider is that the cable is protected by the correctly rated circuit breaker for the power consumption. You can use 10mm if you like as long as the circuit breaker is 20A. Even with volt drop over a run of 30m it comes out as 64. Length is sufficient to allow the cooker to be pulled forward for maintenance or cleaning.
A and for the flexible cable at 6mm this is within the 55A rating but for the cable in the wall likely the rating for 6mm will be about 34A. If you use a 32A MCB then should the cooker draw over the 32A for an extended time the MCB will trip.
What size power cable does my cooker require? The cable should be the same size as the cable feeding the cooker from the CU. The load cable then runs to the terminal outlet box (or cooker outlet box) which is simply a junction box in the wall where the cooker cable is connected to the mains cable you have just installed.
The terminal outlet box is covered with a plate which allows easy, but safe access for connection. The cooker terminals are behind the cover at the rear The mains cable must pass through the cable clamp and the screws must be fully tightened. Sufficient cable should be used to allow the cooker to be pulled out for servicing. Changing my integral double oven, I find new cooker terminals do not have clamps under screw heads, and finding it impossible to get good grip on cables.
The holes in the over terminal block look quite large as though thicker cable should be used. There is no question that the Cooker works as advertise and no denying the extraordinary sonic benefits of fully breaking in audio cables. Connect the cable to the back of your cooker Locate the terminal outlet box on the back of your appliance and unscrew the plate.
Connect the live (brown), neutral (blue), and earth (green-yellow) wires into their appropriate slots (neutral goes to the left, live – to the right, earth – to the centre). What Circuit and Cables are Needed to Install an Electric Cooker ? All electric cookers require their own radial circuit – it is inadvisable for an oven to share a circuit with another major kitchen appliance.
