At clients yesterday and completed tests on a lighting. Hi guys I have a job to install some new lighting but sadly there is no RCD on the lighting circuit and i cannot meet the requirements for not. The Memera metalclad consumer units use MCBs and RCBOs for final sub circuit protection, and can also accommodate a wide range of other modular devices such as timers, contactors and relays.

Full instructions and a comprehensive labelling kit enable the installation to be completed professionally with all the appropriate internal warning and circuit identification labels. Memera consumer units are factory assembled and include the main controlling devices. All that’s required is the fitting of the MCBs etc, and the busbar which is provided in every unit securely held in its transit carrier.

The fuses are split into an RCD protected side and an unprotected side. The units are available with single or multiple incoming device options as well as the various dual RCD combinations widely used to enable compliance with the 17th Edition wiring regulations. Just check the orientation of the terminals for the correct polarity.

Got called to a flat today cos smell of burning and breakers tripping in CU. Was old Memera board with plug in push button MCBs.

A couple of them were really hot. Eaton Memera 17th edition metalclad consumer unit. A residual-current device ( RCD ), or residual-current circuit breaker (RCCB) is an electrical wiring device that disconnects a circuit whenever it detects that the. They offer a dual- RCD , variable split-load. In addition to the existing dual RCD split-load arrangement with two 80A RCDs, there is a cost-effective alternative with one 80A RCD and one 63A RCD.

Nearly new , in working order , full length on neutral and earth. Has your MEM RCD tripped? Give our video a watch before you call your electrician.

An RCD , or residual current device , is a life-saving device which is designed to prevent you from getting a fatal electric shock if you touch something live, such as a bare wire. It can also provide some protection against electrical fires. RCDs offer a level of personal protection that ordinary fuses and circuit-breakers cannot provide.

Not sure which MCB you need? Fast and Free Delivery Available. Trade Quality with Low Prices. In the near future, however, space for wiring is likely to become much less of a concern as new compact RCBOs, which are only slightly larger than MCBs, are expected to appear on the market very soon. We have acquired a replacement (used) mcb but we need someone to replace it.

Some weeks ago whilst my partner was doing the ironing the main RCD main switch tripped out.

Contactors Amp Contactors. The Eaton range of residual current circuit breakers without integral overload protection (RCCBs), provided protection solutions to a wide range of applications. MRField fit RCD pod for Eaton MCB.

Rating 63A 30mA 2volt. Free delivery available - buy now! Used RCBO but in complete working order. RCD will not protect against live-neutral shocks, because the current in the live and neutral is balanced.

So if you touch live and neutral conductors at the same time (e.g., both terminals of a light fitting), you may still get a nasty shock.
