The original project page that was here is available as a zip file to download in the Old Files section at the bottom under Downloads. Find great deals on eBay for dds vfo and dds signal generator. In high power mode, it is ideally suited for use with older Icom, Yaesu and Kenwood HF transceivers. This is a continuation of my previous DDS projects. DDS VFO Technical Reference.
Firmware Instructions for Arduino IDE.
Software: There are currently two types of software available to suit the PIC16F6PIC controller board. My first DDS has been very popular, but there have been a few requests for improved performance. The chip I chose for that design was the lowest cost chip available for the HF frequency range. The initial request for expansion was the frequency range, the first version was limited to 20MHz output, but I was able to overclock that inexpensive get to get 30MHz out. The document has moved here.
The heart of the VFO is a synthesizer from N3ZI called the Super DDS. You must purchase and build this first. N3ZI has done a beautiful job designing the synthesizer.
It is hard to imagine anything better at such a price.
The synthesizer can output any frequency from 0. It tunes very much like an analog VFO and. Universal VFO for all ILER, MFT, EGV transceivers and similar projects. Join vr-huto create inspiring collections on eBay! This design also works with a Arduino Uno, Nano, Mini or other similar platforms.
Both outputs have a range of approximately 3. A GPS receiver can be connected to maintain precise frequency output. T here was a time when a transmitter consisted of a single vacuum tube operating as a keyed oscillator. Well, you can imagine what that sounds like on the air! This function can be hidden for single band rigs.

Craig Hollinger 1views. The Basics Of Direct Digital. Web site dedicated to ham radio (amateur radio). Here the SMPS circuit can be seen on the left hand side of the boar completely replacing the linear regulator.
I have not yet built this design, so I don’t know what kind of effect this will have on the output signal, versus the linear regulator. DDS -INSTRUCTION MANUAL The DDS -is a complete Digital Tuning System, a VFO , with full control of DRAKE Rreceivers and Ttransmitter.
Hi I Have successfully completed a DDS with the following facilities. On the web-site you can read my QEX article on the VFO design, as well as the CQ article on my buffer amplifier. Also on the site are spectral plots, noise measurements, and reviews of my equipment. You can read on for additional circuit accessories and recent improvements.
So, i got some focus back into my home brewing with the goal to complete the receiver. Also the DDS require more support circuits such as the reference clock oscillator, which is also unlikely to be cheap. The firmware defaults to the VFO mode, indicated by the text “ VFO ” in the second row.
The encoder changes frequency using the preset tuning step. The step can be changed by pressing the encoder and then rotating it to select the desired tuning step. Pressing the encoder again goes back to frequency tuning.
