MG MGF Technical - Heater control valve sucks!
Been losing coolant for some time, even when car is left standing. Head gasket was done a couple of years ago and no oil in water or vice versa. The other which is the most likely cause is the heater control valve in. After fitting a replacement heater control valve of the type that is mounted to the heater box and watch it fail (leak) after about weeks in service and miles I. The heater is on hot permanently. I have got access via the driver footwell panel and the heater valve is not connected with the plastic gizmo loose in there.
When I take a look I think the valve has been fitted upside down!
Its weird but maybe someone fitted it wrong? Could anyone recommend a good place to get one please? Thanks to all for helping me identify where coolant leak was coming from.
